Morgan has grown up a lot since taking some lumps during the preseason, but the question is, has it grown up enough?

It won't take long to answer that as highly-talented Judge rides into town for a Class 3A first-round playoff tilt with the Trojans this Friday.

Judge, ranked fourth in the classification, was unbeaten for most of the season and had started to rise fairly high in the Deseret Morning News Top 25 rankings before stumbling against Region 10 foes Wasatch and Union near the end of its schedule.

Those losses force the Bulldogs to play on the road in Round 1, but everybody pretty much knows how tough they will be.

Offensively, Judge has lots of weapons — QB Joe Pond, RB Tyson Moll, RB Lewis Walker and WR Keenyn Walker among them.

Defensively, Keenyn Walker is tied for the lead in the state for interceptions with six. DeVaughan Wilkins is among the state's leaders with 11 sacks.

The Trojans must be wary of both players throughout the game Friday.

After struggling early, Morgan found its stride in league play. Aside from a 17-3 loss to Logan, Morgan was perfect in Region 11 action, though the league clearly isn't what it has been in past years.

Running back Jake Kinsey has found the endzone 11 times this fall, and, in addition to being Morgan's leading rusher, he is also the team's leading receiver. — Dan Rasmussen
