Provo ed officials plan school-boundary forums
Tonight's open house is from 6-8 at Amelia Earhart Elementary, 2585 W. 200 South.
Thursday's open house is from 6-8 p.m. at Sunset View Elementary, 525 S. 1600 West.
The neighborhoods that could be affected by boundary changes are Park Ridge, Leisure Village mobile home park, and the neighborhoods around Franklin, Sunset View and Amelia Earhart and Spring Creek elementary schools.
At the open houses, residents can learn about three different boundary proposals, available on the school district's Web site, www.provo.edu.
"However, it's not the case that one of these plans would be selected," school board member Sandy Packard said. "They may take aspects of those different plans, depending on public input."
An elementary school in the Lakeview neighborhood is expected to open next fall and will draw 300 students from Amelia Earhart Elementary, leaving Amelia Earhart underpopulated.
