CLEARFIELD — The city has created a new position and hired Adam Lenhard as its community development director.

The position involves a separation of duties from the public works department and an expansion on the job that Kay Chandler held as economic director until he retired last June.

Clearfield attracted 70 applicants for the new job in a nationwide search.

"We've selected an individual who will meet the needs of our city," Clearfield Mayor Don W. Wood said.

Lenhard previously worked as a project director for Trophy Homes and before that as a planner for Eagle Mountain, Utah County.

City officials felt his experience in the private and public sector made him the best candidate for the job.
