Tour to spotlight solar power
The tour, called the Utah Solar Tour, is hosted by two nonprofit groups: the Utah Solar Energy Association and Utah Clean Energy. The two organizations support research into renewable and clean energy sources.
During the tour, residents can view solar-energy uses at sites in St. George, Cedar City, Ogden, Logan, Orem, Summit County and Salt Lake County. Two workshops about solar energy will also be held at the following locations:
• Green Power Solutions Inc., 687 W. 6960 South, Suite A, Midvale. 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
• Entheos Academy Charter School, 4710 W. 6200 South, Kearns. 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
At least 46 other states are participating in tours of solar buildings this Saturday as part of a national solar tour. For more information, log on to: www.utsolar.org.
"The demand for clean, renewable energy technologies is on the rise, and more people are seeking solar for their energy needs," said Orrin Farnsworth with the Utah Solar Energy Association. "This tour is an easy way for Utahns to learn more about the 'what's' and 'how to's' of solar and other renewable energy applications."
