• "Ten Canoes" (Palm, 2006, $24.99). Fascinating, simple fable of the distant past, about aborigines in the primitive Australian outback. Brings to mind Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" without the bombast. Not rated but has nudity and violence.

• "The Intruder: Special Edition" (Buena Vista, 1962, PG-13, b/w, $19.99). Arguably William Shatner's finest hour — and one of writer/director Roger Corman's — with Shatner as an agitator who riles up a Southern town over desegregation issues.

• "The Great Northfield Minnesota Raid" (Universal, 1972, PG, $14.98). Interesting if unfocused look at the Younger/James gang in the semi-realism style that Westerns adopted in the '70s, with Cliff Robertson dominating as Cole Younger and Robert Duvall stealing the show as a twitchy, evangelical Jesse James.
