"The first thing we need to see is what type of sentence Warren Jeffs receives in Utah. That may determine what happens next," Mohave County Attorney Matt Smith said in a statement. "The second question then is whether or not he will go to Arizona or the federal authorities will get him, although it seems likely that he will probably go to Arizona first. The final question will be what are the desires of the victim, which may be somewhat determined by what happens to Mr. Jeffs in Utah."

The Mohave County Attorney's Office confirmed Tuesday it has four cases against Jeffs pending, but Smith told the Deseret Morning News that two of them "may be in jeopardy at this time." He declined to elaborate, but some of the child brides in those cases have refused to testify in the past.

Jeffs also faces a federal grand jury indictment in Salt Lake City, charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. It stems from his time on the run and on the FBI's Most Wanted list. Jeffs was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list when he was arrested during a traffic stop outside Las Vegas last year.

Prosecutors have also hinted at other cases. Belnap limited his remarks on the verdict because of "other potential cases related to this matter." For reasons not fully explained, prosecutors have yet to charge the man they allege raped Elissa Wall — her cousin Allen Steed.

"We're just going to go back and go to work," Belnap said.

The Deseret Morning News has reported the Utah Attorney General's Office also has an organized crime probe under way involving Jeffs and the FLDS Church.

"We know he's going to spend a significant amount of time in prison," Shurtleff said of Jeffs. "And we can do what we need to as far as ongoing investigations."
