The winners and the losers

Winner: The BYU Master of Business Administration program won top honors this week from the Wall Street Journal/Harris Interactive regional survey. The region happened to be the entire United States.

This is no small feat for the school, whose business graduates have a reputation for "maturity, competitive drive, integrity and international experience," a Journal reporter wrote.

Loser: If Utahns are to conserve energy, they need to change long-term behavior patterns. One-time events such as this week's "Lights Out Utah" project are meaningless attention-getters. As it turned out, power consumption was virtually unaffected by the campaign, during which Utahns were supposed to turn off all lights for one hour Wednesday night.
