Eagle Mountain City Hall scandals
• March 2003 Mayor Kelvin Bailey takes overnight car trip to Barstow, Calif. Bailey tells his wife and police that he was forced to make the trip at gunpoint.
Bailey is charged with a class B misdemeanor for giving a false report to police. A year later, Bailey accepts a plea deal. He resigns in 2005.
• January 2006 Mayor Brian Olsen resigns from the Utah Highway Patrol while being investigated for lying about receiving a master's degree from Brigham Young University.
• October 2006 Olsen resigns as mayor three days before he is charged with seven third-degree felony counts of misuse of public funds.
• Sept. 12 Former City Councilman Greg Kehl fires a shot into the ground with his handgun and angrily leaves his house via a motorized paraglider. Police say Kehl fatally shot himself while airborne, causing him to crash.
• Sept. 14 Councilwoman Linn Strouse is charged with a second-degree felony for accepting a $10,000 loan from a developer. Strouse is accused of failing to disclose the loan as required by state law.
