LOGAN — Cache County Republicans on Friday night nominated Curt Webb to replace Scott Wyatt in the Utah Legislature.

GOP delegates from Legislative District 5, which covers south Cache County and part of Logan, favored Webb 90-69 over candidate Jonathan Jenkins. Webb, 57, represented District 5 in 2003 and 2004 when Brent Parker resigned.

When Webb ran for election, however, he lost to Wyatt by 54 votes. Webb lives in Providence and owns Cache Title Co. in Logan.

His nomination will be sent to Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr., who will appoint Wyatt's replacement.

Wyatt resigned after being named president of Snow College in July. Huntsman's appointee will serve the remainder of Wyatt's term, which runs until January 2009.
