Gay-rights leader set to speak at fund-raiser

A national leader in advocating for legal rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals is returning to her home state to speak at Equality Utah's sixth annual Allies Dinner fund-raiser.

Kate Kendell, director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights, grew up in Utah and received a law degree from the University of Utah.

The dinner is 7 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Salt Palace. Tickets are $100. For more information, visit www.alliesdinner.org.

Equality Utah PAC endorses candidates and supports campaigns in an effort to expand the number of elected officials who support Utah's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
