Free health-care clinic planned Friday, Saturday
The Junior League Care Fair, now 15 years old, offers services of more than 300 local medical volunteers and 50 community agencies. Over two days, it is expected to serve more than 3,300 people.
The fair helps low-income, uninsured and under-insured families get medical services and community agency information.
The aim is to reach needy families just before the new school year. Services include childhood immunizations and physicals, women's cancer screenings, HIV testing, eye, ear and dental exams, and diabetes testing. Free day care is available, and drawings will be held for free child car seats and bike helmets. Spanish interpreters will also be available.
As part of the event, Dr. David N. Sundwall, executive director of the Utah Department of Health, will speak to community leaders, health fair supporters and donors at the Junior League Care Fair Luncheon Friday.
