The board of directors of the Sunstone Education Foundation has hired John Dehlin as its new executive director, effective immediately.

He will aim to implement specific strategic initiatives to solidify Sunstone as the primary independent forum for open, thoughtful and constructive discussion of Mormon-related current events, contemporary issues, scholarship and art.

He is the founder of the Mormon Stories podcast, a popular Internet radio show exploring Mormon-related issues and themes through personal experiences and stories. He is also the founder of Mormon Matters, a weekly podcast in roundtable format that discusses Mormon news in the broader context of religion and society. Dehlin has also served as a member of the Sunstone board of directors for two years.

Sunstone's current executive director, Dan Wotherspoon, has also been serving as the Editor of Sunstone magazine since January 2001 and will continue in that role.
