Local urban fishing waters

Location: Kaysville. Directions: Take exit 338 off of I-15 onto 200 North, go to Main St. and turn right and proceed to 50 West, pond is between 550 and 900 South. Size: 5-6 acres total in 4 ponds. Boating and floating: Float tubes and canoes only. Catch: Rainbow trout (fall and winter) channel catfish, largemouth bass and bluegill.

Bountiful Lake

Location: Bountiful. Directions: I-15, take the 400 North exit (Hwy 131), turn north on 800 West, turn west on Pages Lane (approx. 1600 North), follow Pages Lane to property. Size: 50 acres. Boating and floating: No motorized watercraft allowed. Catch: Largemouth bass, bluegill, black bullheads, channel catfish, walleye, yellow perch, white bass, trout and common carp. Handicap access: Yes.

Sunset Pond

Location: Draper. Directions: From 700 East turn east on Meadowwood Dr. (11705 South), follow to Willowwood Dr. and then to Mehraban Wetlands parking area. Size: 1 acre. Boating and floating: No motorized watercraft allowed. Catch: Rainbow trout, bluegill, green sunfish and channel catfish. Handicap access: No.

Provo River

Location: Orem and Provo area. Directions: From I-15, exit 275 (Orem) and take 800 North to mouth of Provo Canyon, follow signs towards Provo, taking State Road 189 to the Riverwoods shopping area or follow the river and find a place. Boating and floating: No. Catch: Rainbow trout, brown trout, mountain whitefish and Bonneville cutthroat trout. Handicap access: No.

Utah Lake

Location: Utah County. Directions: From I-15 take exit 268 (Center St. in Provo), continue west (2.5 miles) to the Utah Lake State Park. Other access is at Lindon Boat Harbor (privately owned) and American Fork Boat Harbor (city owned). Size: 96,900 acres. Boating and floating: yes. Catch: Walleye, channel catfish, largemouth bass, white bass, black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, yellow perch and common carp. Handicap access: yes.

Clinton City Park Pond

Location: Clinton, 2415 N. 3000 West. Directions: From I-15 take Exit 338, go west to Main, turn south on Main to 1800 North, turn west to 3000 West, turn north on 2415 North, then east to the pond. Size: 4 acres. Boating and floating: By permit only. Catch: Rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish. Handicap access: yes.

Midas Pond

Location: South Jordan. Directions: From I-15 take 10600 South exit, turn west to River Front Parkway, turn south, continue approximately 1-mile, pond on left. Size: 1 acre. Boating and floating: Not allowed. Catch: Rainbow trout and channel catfish. Handicap access: No.
