War on terror similar to WWII

The war on terror is comparable, I think, to World War II in some ways. Osama bin Laden is comparable to Hitler, al-Qaida to the Nazis, with both groups intent on genocide. Even 9/11 is somewhat reflective of Pearl Harbor. The biggest difference is the reaction of the American people. In World War II, we had general unity, we supported our troops and we knew we were going to win. The response to the war on terror has been division, demoralization of our troops and many wanting to throw in the towel.

This war, like the one before, can be won. But if this war is ever to have a "happily ever after," the glory will be to our unwavering troops, along with our apologies.
