Crews tear down the south entrance to the ZCMI Center Tuesday on 100 South as part of demolition to make way for the City Creek Center project. Construction officials say more than half the materials from ZCMI Center and the Crossroads Plaza will be reused, either in the City Creek Center or in other projects. The ZCMI food court, which has been walled off from the demolition zone, is still open for business. When the new project is done, in addition to retail and restaurants, plans call for at least 420 condominium and apartment units to eventually populate the two blocks currently housing the ZCMI Center and the rubble of Crossroads Plaza.
