"We would also like these athletes to move, live and train here in Park City between seasons and take advantage of what we will have," he added.

Private funding will be used to construct the center.

Marolt said almost from the time of inception, fund raising started for what is called the Legacy Campaign.

"We've almost completed the $60 million campaign," he added. "Earnings from this fund will not only help pay for the center but will also go into covering annual costs of running the center.

"Over the past four years, this fund has spun off more than $1 million in annual support."

The center will be completed in time to aid those athletes headed for the 2010 Winter Games but will be in full service for those headed for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
