The report found that Utahns were less likely to suffer poor physical and mental health than the national average, but a number of areas in Salt Lake County surpassed the national rate.

Magna had the state's highest rate of poor health, with a quarter of its adult population reporting health problems, according to the survey. The Woods Cross/North Salt Lake area was healthiest, with just 7.9 percent reporting health problems.

The report also said that more widowed, separated or divorced Utahns reported poor health than married Utahns.

Magna had the highest rate of adult Utahns suffering from poor mental health, at 24.6 percent, according to the report. The American Fork/Alpine area in Utah County rated lowest at 7.2 percent. The state rate of 15 percent was barely below the national rate of 15.1 percent.

The number of Utahns with doctor-diagnosed asthma, 7.5 percent, was lower than the national 7.7 percent, according to the survey. But almost half of the areas within the Salt Lake Valley exceeded the national rate.

Utah adults with health coverage, 86.6 percent, surpassed the national rate of 84.5 percent, according to the report.

The Woods Cross/North Salt Lake area reported the highest percentage with health coverage, 94.9 percent, and the Riverton/Draper area followed with 94.5 percent.

Glendale had the state's lowest rate at 68.8 percent, and the Grand/San Juan County area was next lowest at 72 percent.
