S.L. reception for Richardson
The event is being hosted by Salt Lake Mayor Rocky Anderson, Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon, Sen. Ross Romero, D-Salt Lake, and David Ibarra, a member of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets are priced at $500 for a "friend" of the candidate and $2,300 to join the "Richardson Leadership Circle," and the event will be held in the Heber C. Kimball House from 5-6:30 p.m. For additional information, go to the party's Web site, www.utdemocrats.org.
Richardson will also deliver the keynote address at the Utah Democratic Party's annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner later that evening as well as speak at the party's state convention on July 14 with another Democratic presidential hopeful, Sen. Chris Dodd from Connecticut.
The first visit to Utah by a Democratic presidential candidate came in early June when former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, the party's vice presidential nominee in 2004, raised some $100,000 during a three-hour stop in the state.
The three top-tier Republican presidential candidates all have been to Utah this year to raise money former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Sen. John McCain of Arizona and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
