South Jordan: Today, Country Fest, 9 a.m. parade, food, carnival events throughout the day, car show; fireworks at dusk, Salt Lake City Equestrian Park off Redwood Road and 11010 South, 254-3742.

South Salt Lake: July 3, 6 p.m. entertainment, food, vendors until fireworks at dusk, Granite High School; July 4, 7 a.m. 5K Run, 8:15 a.m. breakfast; 9:30 a.m. parade at 2280 S. 300 East, 10 a.m. throughout day, crafts, games and music.
