5 S. Davis cities considering RAP tax

"It's extremely expensive," Shaefermeyer said. "I'm concerned about the ongoing cost."

A theater needs a full-time marketing director, artistic director and several full-time people to build sets and work on lighting and sound.

She said the Rodgers Memorial Theatre does a great job, but having two taxes on the ballot might mean that one of the taxes would lose.

"We just need to have everything together," she said.

West Bountiful Mayor James Behunin said the theater and sports complex could greatly enhance the quality of life for South Davis residents.

"We donit have the facilities to address our growing population," he said.

And even though the election isn't until November, now is a good time to start talking.

"It's a conversation our community needs to have during the next year," Behunin said.
