Checks for the charity money earned from the debate last month between Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson and Fox talk-show host Sean Hannity have been mailed.

KSL Newsradio reported Friday that the $12,000 was divided among three Salt Lake City charities. Each organization — Guadalupe Schools, Primary Children's Medical Center and the University of Utah Student Scholarship Fund — will receive a donation of about $4,000.

The debate pulled in $25,000 from the sellout crowd, but operating costs totalled nearly $13,000. The small size of Kingsbury Hall and the lower cost of some tickets sold by the students were factors in the final amount of money available for donations.
