Outdoor notes
Utah state parks will host a variety of events this summer. Among them are:
June 22-24: Fremont Indian State Park Museum will hold a primitive pottery workshop. Each participant will make at least one pot. Preregistration is required, and camping reservations are highly recommended. Call 435-527-4631.
June 22: Jordanelle State Park/Hailstone Recreation Area's Pesky Critter Crew park naturalist will walk through campgrounds during the evening discussing the good, the bad and the importance of each critter. Call 435-782-3030.
June 23: Jordanelle State Park/Rock Cliff Recreation Area will hold a junior ranger program from 11 a.m. to noon for children 6 to 10. Topics will be raccoons, skunks, rattlesnakes and the quagga mussel. Call 435-782-3030.
June 23: Hyrum State Park will host a presentation at 7 p.m. about the Cache National Forest by Dave Hawkes of the U.S. Forest Service. Call 435-245-6866.
June 23: Wasatch Mountain State Park will hold a Junior Ranger Program about wildflowers for children 6 to 12. Program begins at 1 p.m. at the Educational Yurt. At 9 p.m., it will offer a discussion on the many faces of bats at the campground
amphitheater. Call 435-654-1791.
June 23: Antelope Island State Park will discuss machinery of the past, including old engines. It will be held at 2 p.m. at the Fielding Garr Ranch. Call 801-773-2941.
Comments on Yuba
Utah State Parks and Recreation is developing a resource management plan for Yuba State Park. The plan will identify issues relating to public use, resource management and future development and will make recommendations to guide park managers for the next 10 years.
Interested parties are encouraged to submit concerns and recommendations. The deadline for issues and recommendations is June 25.

Those interested in viewing two adult bald eagles and their two baby eaglets can do so during free Watchable Wildlife field trips near the southeast shore of the Great Salt Lake.
