Outdoor notes
With the summer boating season upon us, Utah State Parks reminds those who venture onto the water to wear their life jackets. There are many reasons people choose not to wear life jackets. However, with approximately 700 people drowning each year in boating accidents, a life jacket while on the water is essential.
Life jackets are important boating safety equipment and should be worn at all times. They are no longer the orange, hot and bulky vests. New innovations and developments have produced smaller, sleeker and much more comfortable versions.
Throughout the boating season, remember to practice safe and responsible boating, be alert while on the water and always wear a life jacket.
