Monte Cristo Pass open for summer travel

The Utah Department of Transportation has opened Monte Cristo Pass, in Weber and Rich counties, for summer travel.

The mountain pass is closed each winter between the cities of Huntsville and Woodruff because of heavy snowfall, which "exceeds the department's capacity to clear and maintain," UDOT officials say.
