I have been to one movie in the theaters thus far this calendar year, and it reminded me again just how rude the public in general has become. ... We will just enjoy the movies at our home where we can insist on and enforce courteous behavior.

And there was one dissenting vote, regarding cell phones, from Tyran: One caveat on the cell phones: Emergencies. If we do not allow some common courtesy to those who respond to our emergencies quickly because they have cell phones then we will soon find such individuals either leaving any social life behind, which is unlikely, or we will find that our emergencies have to wait until it's convenient for the responder. ...

With this in mind, be grateful that some people are willing to interrupt life to deal with life's problems.
