RESERVE CAMP SITES
Even though Memorial Day is still a month away, it's not too early to reserve a campsite at one of Utah's state parks.
The following parks have campsites available for Memorial Day Antelope Island, Bear Lake, Deer Creek, Jordanelle, Red Fleet, Rockport, Scofield, Snow Canyon, Starvation, Steinaker, Utah Lake, Wasatch Mountain, Willard Bay and Yuba.
ESSAY CONTEST
Children in grades seven through 12 have until Monday to get their essays in to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources in order to win a free, guided fishing trip on Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
The contest is being sponsored by the Utah Conservation Officers' Association.
Six students stand to win a fishing tackle package and an all-expense-paid trip to Flaming Gorge in June.
The trip includes overnight accommodations, food and guides.
Utah Bass Federation and the DWR will provide the trip guides and fishing experts.
Participants must submit an essay at www.wildlife.utah.gov/essaycontest. The theme of the essay is: Why a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work or school.
A winner will be selected from each grade. Winners will be notified by phone on May 25.
For more information call 435-636-0277 or 435-820-6445 or send an e-mail to staceyjones@utah.gov.
