Andrew E. Unsworth has been appointed a full-time Tabernacle organist, joining three other full-time and two part-time organists currently serving on Temple Square, according to an announcement from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Unsworth was organist and assistant director of music at the Cathedral of the Madeleine from 2001-06. He has been a guest organist at the Salt Lake Tabernacle on many occasions since 1993. He becomes the 13th full-time organist to serve on Temple Square, continuing a tradition stretching back to early pioneer days.

He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in organ performance and pedagogy. He earned master's and doctoral degrees from Duke University and is currently assistant professor of music history and organ at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Other full-time Tabernacle organists are John Longhurst, Clay Christiansen and Richard Elliott. Part-time organists are Bonnie Goodliffe and Linda Margetts.
