Holbrook bows out of Salt Lake mayoral race

However, as Holbrook noted then, she was one of the more recently announced candidates at the time of that filing, so she had had less time to raise money.

In addition to Buhler and Christensen, the candidates still in the race are House Minority Leader Ralph Becker, D-Salt Lake; schoolteacher Robert Comstock; colorectal surgeon J.P. Hughes; Centro Civico Mexicano director John Renteria; City Councilwoman Nancy Saxton; and Salt Lake County Councilwoman Jenny Wilson.

Political unknown Arnold Matthew Jones previously had a campaign fund-raising committee filed with the city, but he has since closed that committee. The Deseret Morning News has been unable to contact Jones.

On the Transportation Commission, Holbrook's nomination is to replace Commissioner Jan Wells. Adams would replace Commissioner Ken Warnick.

Holbrook is currently employed as government-affairs director for Zions Bank, and she serves on the state Board of Regents. She said she will continue to serve in both those positions.
