"I told every one of my customers that was through the door (Wednesday) what happened," he said. "(I told them), 'There's been an outbreak. They're blaming it on my milk and I'm leaving it up to you whether you drink it or not."'

Of the customers who came into his store Wednesday after the state inspectors left, Woolsey said all 40 decided to buy his products.

Woolsey said many of his customers frequent his business because they're allergic to pasteurized milk, which is heated at high temperatures to kill bacteria.

There's no proof yet his milk caused the outbreak, said Woolsey.

"At this point, they don't know it's my milk and there's no way they're going to know until the sample results return," said Woolsey, noting the inspectors didn't arrive at his dairy until Wednesday, several days after the cases were reported.

While the samples are being tested, though, health department officials advise that any raw milk products, either goat or cow, purchased from Woolsey's Dairy be thrown away.

"If you are experiencing any symptoms, you should call your doctor," Miner said.

Most individuals infected by Campylobacter recover without any specific treatment, but some antibiotics can be used in more severe cases, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Campylobacter rarely spreads from person to person, but health department officials advised those infected with the bacteria and their caregivers to wash their hands frequently and be careful when handling food.
