AMERICAN FORK — American Fork has created a Traffic/Transportation Committee that will represent city interests regarding changes to I-15 and other streets in the city.

The committee was organized by Mayor Heber Thompson to focus on traffic concerns that affect the city, including the expansion of I-15, lane additions and on-street parking removal in downtown American Fork.

Members of the committee are:

Howard Denny, city engineer

Mike Olsen, administrator, American Fork Hospital

Rick Storrs, councilman, American Fork city

Steve Seagle, resident, American Fork Main Street

Doug Smith, businessman, Doug Smith Autoplex

Linda Walton, public-information officer, American Fork city

A yet-to-be-named police department representative

Population growth in northern Utah County cities places demands on infrastructure that are challenging financially and logistically. The new committee will interact with the Utah Department of Transportation as well as other cities and groups.
