There are many opportunities to share your time and talents with others. Listed here are opportunities provided by the 211 Info Bank at 1025 S. 700 West, Salt Lake City. For more information, go to www.informationandreferral.org.

Bridges Volunteer program — Adults tutor children in neighborhood schools who are struggling with reading, spelling, math and writing. Volunteers can choose the school, grade and time of day they volunteer.

Utah Gardens — Looking for youths to help run their PLAY program where fresh food is grown for the needy. The program is run by kids and makes for great leadership opportunities. We also have need of adult advisers. Call 604-5825 for more details.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation — Exciting opportunities to volunteer at Great Strides walk for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The walks will be held in April, May and June in Murray, Ogden, Provo, Stansbury Park and Cedar City. Data entry help also needed in chapter office.

March of Dimes — The March of Dimes Utah Chapter is accepting donations of used or obsolete cell phones. Funds raised from donated phones will aid the March of Dimes' mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Spirit of Caring Urban Central Region Hospitals — Visit with patients at Alta View, Cottonwood and LDS Hhospitals. Provide a compassionate presence, aid in spiritual well-being (non-denominational), offer various comforts and assistance to hospitalized patients and their families. An eight-hour training is scheduled for Saturday, March 10. Volunteers will be screened and interviewed and asked to give two to three2-3 hours or of service per week. We offer flexible scheduling.

Camp Hobe — Volunteers needed for summer camp: June 2-8 (campers ageds 6-12), June 10-15 (campers agesd 12-19), and June 10-12 (campers agesd 4-7). Positions include counselors, activity leaders, cooks, medical staff, and lifeguards.

Utah State Library for the Blind and Disabled — We are looking for volunteer tape inspectors to check shipments of books on cassette tapes to ensure that the quality of the recording meets specifications. We need volunteers that are available 2-3 two to three hours per week from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays.

Red Butte Gardens — Come join the adventure. Help lead weekly first- through fourth-grade school groups through Red Butte's outdoor classroom and share your passion for nature with budding young minds.
