Fiber artists to exhibit work at cultural center

WEST VALLEY CITY — An exhibit featuring local fiber artists opens Friday at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in West Valley City.

The Utah Fiber Celebration will highlight handcrafted, decorative and functional art such as weaving, spinning, surface design and baskets.

A free opening reception with the artists, weaving demonstrations, music and refreshments will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Local fiber artist Robyn Spady will present a free public lecture and a hands-on activity at 7 p.m. March 22.

The exhibit runs through April 11 at the center, 1355 W. 3100 South, West Valley City.
