"We think he would be a fantastic president," said JoAnn Butler of Red Oak, Iowa. "I like his family values, I like his moral values. I like his ideas. He can put politics aside and do what is best for the country."

Romney, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, mentioned his belief in God during his speeches and that "every person in this great country, and every person on this great planet, is a child of God," but did not go into details about religion.

USA Today's headline on Tuesday read "Will Mormon faith hurt bid for White House?" as questions on his religion get pushed to the forefront.

Glenn said Romney's religion will not matter as much to social conservatives because they will not be able to get around his "flip-flop" on abortion and gay marriage to even consider thinking about his religious preference.
