  • "The Hills: The Complete First Season" (MTV/Paramount, 2001-02, three discs, $39.99). This MTV "reality" series is a sequel to "Laguna Beach," following Lauren "L.C." Conrad as she moves to Los Angeles on her own (with a roommate), and gets her "dream" internship at Teen Vogue magazine. Life with the rich and boring.

Extras: Widescreen, 10 episodes, deleted scenes, featurettes

  • "Masters of Horror: 'Pelts"' (Anchor Bay, 2006, $14.98). This hour by Dario Argento ("Suspiria") is the usual R-rated gory horror that fans expect from this series. Meat Loaf and John Saxon star in the story of a fur trader who makes a coat of a family of vengeful raccoons.

Extras: Widescreen, audio commentary, featurettes, storyboard, photo gallery, text biography (of director Dario Argento), DVD-ROM applications

    Children's shows

  • "It's a Small World of Fun! Volume 3" (Disney, 1936-52, $14.99).

  • "It's a Small World of Fun! Volume 4" (Disney, 1934-53, $14.99). These collections of vintage Disney cartoons supposedly represent various locales around the world — well, as Disney artists saw the world in the '30s, '40s and '50s, anyway. And each disc includes some great classics.

"Volume 3" features a couple of Goofy 'toons, "Tiger Trouble" and "Hello Aloha," Donald Duck on "The Fox Hunt" and "Alpine Climbers," with Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald. "Johnny Appleseed" is also here.

"Volume 4" has "The Goddess of Spring," "Polar Trappers," "The Little House" and Goofy in "For Whom the Bull Tolls," as well as the featurette "The Reluctant Dragon."

Extras: Full frame, 11 cartoons (six on "Volume 3," five on "Volume 4")

  • "Zoey 101: The Complete 1st Season" (Nick/Paramount, 2005, two discs, $26.99). Jamie Lynn Spears stars in this Nickelodeon series about a girl and her friends who attend what used to be an all-boys school.

Extras: Full frame, bonus episode: "Quarantine," featurette, bloopers

  • "BoBoBo-Bo Bo-BoBo, Volume 1: Bo-Nafide Protector" (Illumitoon/Westlake, 2003, $19.98). Truly weird animated series about the title superhero, who uses his golden afro and 5-foot nose hairs as weapons when a bald villain wages a "hair hunt." Uncut, with footage not on seen on TV.

    Extras: Full frame, four episodes

  • "Dora the Explorer: Musical School Days" (Nick Jr./Paramount, 2006, $16.99). Episodes are: "La Maestra de Musica," "The Happy Old Troll," "Boots to the Rescue" and "A Letter for Swiper."

    Extras: Full frame, four episodes

  • "My Bedbugs, Volume 1" (GreenStuff, 2006, $14.99). This PBS show is aimed at kids ages 2-7, with puppet characters named Woozy, Toofy and Gooby, who sing, dance and teach kids positive behaviors. Episodes are "Lost Sock Adventure," "Pirates of the Bugabean" and "Rainy Day."

    Extras: Full frame, three episodes

  • "Jim Cosgrove: Mr. Stinky Feet's Road Trip Live" (Warner, 2006, $12.99). Cosgrove and his band The Hiccups perform live for this 33-minute show aimed at children, ages 2-6, with songs that encourage kids to find their own rhythm while singing, dancing or playing instruments.

Extras: Full frame, eight songs, music video
