SOMETIMES IT PAYS TO STEAL — Kaycee Mansfield, American Fork: This girl just knows how to pick off passes and take them all the way to the other end of the court for the easy score.

WHAT'S IN A NAME? — Jessica Anderson: You pick the team. Spanish Fork and Lehi each feature this name on their rosters. Here's the kicker. Jessica Anderson also graduated from Spanish Fork last year.

TRADING SPACES — Mountain View/American Fork in Region 4 and Lehi/Provo in Region 7 (tie): You almost have to do a double take when you peek at these team's records in the past two years.

DON'T LEAVE HER ALONE OUT THERE — Gabrielle Pinegar, Timpview, and Jenna Johnson, Spanish Fork (tie): If you do nothing else, guard these girls from long distance. If you don't, they'll make you pay — three points at a time.

BREAK A LEG — Jessica Saliby, Orem: She took this expression to heart last spring, and she's still playing with pain. But you'd never know it the way this Tiger roars to life under the basket and attacks the boards with a vengeance.

BLOCK THAT SHOT — Stacy Bartholemew, Timpanogos: She preserved the Timberwolves' 55-52 win over Timpview with a block in the final seconds.

WE WANT NOW! — American Fork Cavemen: They want nothing to do with next (season). They want to win in spite of filling the hardwood with seven freshmen and sophomores.

OOPS! SHE DID IT AGAIN — Alexis Kaufusi, Timpview: For the second straight year, this impact player was lost prior to the preseason with a serious injury, but this time she's gone until next season.

BAD TIMING. I MEAN, REALLY BAD TIMING — Brooke Hiatt, Payson: She can now be seen sitting on the bench with the ill-timed stress fracture that sidelined the Lions star just in time for Region 7 action.

INSIDE, OUTSIDE OR FROM THE LINE — Caitlyn Sears, Lone Peak: Pick your poison with this feisty firecracker. It's hard to surround her with defense when she has such talent around her. But it's tough to stop a player who loves life on the court, anywhere on the court, especially one who has moved into second place on her school's all-time career scoring list with 752 points ... and counting.

WILDCAT WITH A NICE RIDE — Karlie Weight, Timpview: This T-Bird is patrolling the court for Timpview now, but next year she'll be pounding the hardwood in Ogden for Weber State.
