Where did the respondents think income-tax money goes? One individual said the money goes to funding religious groups.

Respondents also weren't clear on the number of U.S. senators who represent the state. Some people who were interviewed said Utah had four, eight, six, three or "maybe five" senators. But they were able to quickly identify people such as Paula Abdul and Simon Fuller, two of the judges on the television program "American Idol."

Gov. Huntsman said in an interview after the league event that the responses from the video didn't surprise him, especially in a "world that is driven by pop-culture icons."

"I'm not sure our country has been any different, ever," Huntsman said.

But the governor did say there are ways to beat apathy and indifference. "Getting our young people involved as early as possible in the (political) process," is crucial, he said.
