The only current lawmaker seeking election as Salt Lake City's next mayor will not accept campaign donations until this year's work on Capitol Hill is done.

Rep. Ralph Becker, D-Salt Lake City, announced Friday that his campaign fund-raising efforts will be put on hold during the legislative session, which runs through February.

"I'm just not comfortable with the appearance that funding for state policy issues could be influenced by contributions from groups that have an interest in city issues," Becker said in a statement.

Becker is one of 10 candidates who have said they will seek to replace Mayor Rocky Anderson, who is not running again.
