ATV OFFROAD FURY PRO, by Sony Computer Entertainment, for the PlayStation Portable, rated "E" for Everyone, $39.99.

When it comes to off-road racing, it's all about the dirt and the glory.

Now fans of the sporting events can take to the tracks with two new brother games for the PlayStation2 and the PlayStation Portable.

"ATV Offroad Fury 4," for the PS2, and its mini-version, "ATV Offroad Fury Pro," for the PSP, are both packed with dirt-riddled action and plenty of custom features.

With more than 30 vehicles, including MX bikes, buggies and trophy trucks, the variety is impressive.

The PS2 version sports a decent mix of closed-circuit tracks plus a new point-to-point "Baja-style" race that pits various vehicles against one another. The design of the tracks is great and keep a player's interest in the action.

"Fury 4" also comes with a new story mode, which, according to what your interests are, can be fun or just funny. Don't look for deep plots here. You begin by choosing a male or female character and then take on the role of a down-and-out racer looking to break back into the racing circuit to prove you're the best. The acting and graphics are sub-par, but the story does tie in the races and keeps things from being too repetitive.

The races are entertaining, and the ability to pull tricks after launching into the air from a dirt ramp is also a blast.

"Fury Pro," the little-brother version, may appear on the PSP, but it is impressive in its own right. While it lacks the story mode of its big brother, the game sports tracks and vehicles that are every bit as entertaining.

What makes the PSP version even more fun is the fact that you can take your career as an offroad racer with you in your backpack.

Both games have multiplayer options, including online and Wi-Fi links, so you can take to the dirt with your friends.
