BYU Museum of Art to offer lecture series

A series of lectures presented by the BYU Museum of Art will be held on selected Thursday evenings beginning Jan. 18. The lectures are in conjunction with the MOA exhibit "Beholding Salvation: Images of Christ" and will be held in the museum auditorium from 7-8 p.m.

Lecture schedule:

  • Jan. 18 — "Picturing the Word" by Dawn C. Pheysey, Curator of Religious Art, BYU Museum of Art.

  • Feb. 8 — "Beholding the Face of God: The Early Christian Search for the Authentic Image of Christ" by William Hamblin, BYU History faculty.

  • March 8 — "Rembrandt and Christ" by Martha M. Peacock, BYU Art History faculty.

  • April 12 — "Victorian Visions: 19th Century Religious Images in the MOA's Collection" by Rita R. Wright, BYU Museum of Art.

  • May 10 — "Depicting Jesus at the Dawn of Christian Art," by Josh E. Probert, BYU Studies.
