CEDAR HILLS — Cedar Hills recently received a Distinguished Budget Presentation award from the Government Finance Officers Association for its 2007 fiscal year budget.

The Chicago-based association is a nonprofit organization that works with 16,000 government-employed financial professionals across the United States.

The group gives government entities awards for distinguished budgets based on how well the municipality's budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communication device, according to the association.

In order to receive the award, the municipality's budget must be proficient in all of those areas.

A certificate of recognition was awarded to Rich Knapp, Cedar Hills finance director; David Taylor, assistant to the city manager, and Brandon Roper, management intern, for having a primary role in preparing the budget presentation.
