Preston Eaton

Springville Red Devils

Sport: Basketball

Class: Senior

The numbers: This 5-foot-10 sharpshooter was one of the state's highest scorers last year, with a 21 points-per-game average, and he's off to a blistering start this season. In two games last week, the senior captain popped in 32 and 34 points, which included three 3-pointers. His 33 points-per-game average is the best in Utah this season. Eaton is considered one of the state's best shooters, a reputation he earned by sinking 51 treys last season.

Caitlyn Sears

Lone Peak Knights

Sport: Basketball

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Story continues below
The numbers: The Knights had a stellar year last season behind Sears' deadly outside shooting and penetration to the basketball, which helped her average more than 13 points per game. In leading the No. 3 Knights to two wins so far this season, she's again shooting lights out and giving defenders fits. In both victories, she's scored 17 points. She made one 3-pointer in a victory over Hunter and two treys in the win over Springville.
