"Travelers are more concentrated during this time of year and there are more meet-and-greeters," Gann said.

The recommended time is 90 minutes for domestic flights and two hours for international flights. Passengers are also encouraged to check with their carrier for additional arrival guidelines.

For those planning to pick up or drop off passengers, the lanes have been modified to create a better flow of traffic.

Those dropping off passengers need to use the right-hand lanes and those picking up passengers need to use the left-hand lanes.

People who are picking up passengers are also encouraged not to sit in those lanes until their passengers have arrived.

"We are really encouraging meeters-and-greeters to use the Park 'N Wait lot," Gann said.

All of the flight information is posted on an electronic board and passengers can also call to coordinate pickup at the curb.

For those wanting to go inside the airport, there is 30-minute free parking in the parking garage.

Suggestions for making air travel go more smoothly

Holiday air-travel tips

• If you don't need to check bags, print boarding passes before arriving at the airport.

• Wear slip-on shoes, remove your outer jacket and take your laptop computer out of its carrying case before approaching the checkpoint.

• Passengers are limited to one carry-on bag and one personal item.

• For all carry-on liquids, aerosols and gels, remember TSA's "3-1-1" rule (products can only be up to 3 ounces, all placed in a 1-quart-size plastic bag, one bag per traveler).

• Don't wrap your gifts — wrap them when you reach your destination or ship packages in advance.

• Arrive at least 90 minutes before flight time for domestic flights and two hours before international flights.

• In Salt Lake City, when picking up passengers, use the Park 'N Wait lot.
