An 18-year-old man was killed Thursday in an ATV rollover on a county road near the Utah-Idaho border.

The accident was discovered about 1:30 p.m. on a paved road near the town of Portage. Box Elder County. Sheriff's Chief Deputy Lynn Yates said it's a main road for the small town, but the accident could have gone unnoticed anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour before it was discovered.

"He flipped the ATV, it landed on top of him and killed him," he said.

What might have caused the ATV to overturn was not known Thursday.

The name of the man, from Cache County, was being withheld pending notification of family members.

No other details about the accident were available Thursday.
