LDS historical group names new president

The John Whitmer Historical Association recently appointed Alexander L. Baugh, Brigham Young University associate professor of church history and doctrine, to be its president for 2006-07.

The announcement was made during the annual conference held in Independence, Mo., Sept. 28-Oct. 1. The John Whitmer Historical Association was founded in 1973 to study the Restoration movement of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
