The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host its annual Latino cultural celebration, "Tesoros de las Americas," 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Conference Center.

The event, to be presented entirely in Spanish, will feature an inspirational message by Elder L. Whitney Clayton, a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy.

It will also include music, dance and narration to highlight Latin American, Polynesian and Native American cultures.

A press release said the pre-devotional festivities begin at 6 p.m., with artists and performers representing various Latin American countries in performances of traditional music, songs, dances and art in the Conference Center entryways, foyers and lobbies. Tesoros de las Americas is a Utah area event and will not be broadcast via satellite or transmitted via the Internet.

Attendance is free to the public, but tickets are required and all tickets have been disbursed. Those without tickets can join standby lines that will be formed at the north gate of Temple Square the night of the performance. A limited number of translation headsets will be available to hear the program in English and Portuguese.
