The Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion and Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah are teaming up to provide funding and resources to companies wishing to increase work-site wellness.

They are creating a mini-grant program and improving a Web site to aid local companies, says LaDene Larsen, director of the Bureau of Health Promotion in the Utah Department of Health.

By the end of the year, seven mini-grants will be awarded to provide a financial opportunity for selected established businesses that want to set up wellness programs.

Employers interested in promoting health can find information about mini-grant opportunities and more at www.health.utah.gov/worksitewellness or by contacting MaryAnn Eads at meads@utah.gov or 801-538-6256.

The Utah Council for Worksite Health Promotion is a non-profit group that consists of representatives from the Utah Department of Health and 14 other businesses and organizations interested in improving work-site wellness.
