ELK FESTIVAL SATURDAY

The annual Elk Festival at the Hardware Ranch east of Hyrum will be held Saturday. The event is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

"The festival is a family-oriented event with activities targeted to immerse children of all ages in wildlife, habitat and heritage activities," said Dan Christensen, ranch superintendent.

Activities on Oct. 14 include horse-drawn wagon rides to see the elk, pumpkin painting, mountain men story telling and activities, animal track stamping, children's archery, the DWR's shooting trailer, an elk bugling and cow elk calling contest and visitor center exhibits.
