PROVO — For the fifth consecutive year students from the private Meridian school are competing in the Utah Shakespearean Festival High School Competition, which ends today.

Some of the older students began the competition Thursday.

Meridian's ensemble has taken first place during four of the past five years in the Westminster division. Students also won the sweepstakes award.

The ensemble scene this year comes from William Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing," while the dance ensemble scene is from "Comedy of Errors." Meridian's drama teacher is Mindy Young.

Meridian's middle school is performing an outlandish view of "Merry Wives of Windsor" under the direction of fine arts department chair Cameron Cahoon.
