ELK TAGS AVAILABLE

Deer tags are gone, but there are some elk permits still available.

The last of the deer permits were sold on Sept. 25.

There are still spike, any bull and general muzzleloader bull elk permits available. The elk hunt opens Saturday.

The spike bull hunt ends Oct. 15, and the any bull hunt ends Oct. 19. Hunters who buy a spike bull elk permit must hunt only on spike-only units, and hunters who buy an any-bull-elk unit permit must hunt only on any-bull-elk units.

For more information, call the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources office or call 801-538-4700.

In addition to the DWR's weekly fishing report, available at www.wildlife.utah.gov/fishing/reports.php, anglers can now receive information through a new Utah Fishing Hotspot Locator site — www.wildlife.utah.gov/hotspots.
