"I am a Direct TV customer, and through my current package (no extras), I have access to OLN (soon to be Versus) and ESPN. To get CSTV (and a host of other sports channels) it only costs me $12.00 per month more via the "sports pack." This package can be added or cancelled at anytime.

"Assuming that this sports pack is where The mtn would be placed, and assuming I and other Direct TV customers are going to add the package for the upcoming 2 games aired on CSTV, there is really no benefit to Direct TV to add The mtn because we'll already be paying the $12.00 whether it is for 2 games on CSTV or for all of the games on The mtn plus CSTV.

"So here's what I did: In my many phone calls to Direct TV, I have requested that in my directive, the upper management be made aware that unless The mtn is added to their programming list, I will not be purchasing the Sports Pack at all.

"I can't threaten to leave for a provider that carries The mtn because no one does, but they can't deny me my Cougs and think that I'll just go away! I'll be calling them again tomorrow, and the next day ..." — Bryan Smedley or Peoria, Ariz.

• "I AM NOT convinced the Comcast is negotiating in good faith. I don't believe for a minute the argument presented in your article. Why is it not being broadcast what there fee will be to the satellite providers? I smell a Comcast rat!! I live in Oregon and we get nothing except radio for BYU football. I don't think this will help recruiting either!" — Doug Crook

• "CONSIDER ME A former fan of the MWC. Believe it or not, not everyone has a dish or cable. I don't. I enjoy watching a free game. Now I will be content to watch ABC or CBS, on Saturday, and see a professionally broadcast game, not a mickey mouse broadcast by CSTV or the mtn. Good luck to the MWC, because this is one fan that will be watching other conferences from now on. — Bob Gaddis
